Hugo Boss and Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini announced a multiyear partnership around the same time last year. Hugo Boss sponsored the Davis Cup and other local competitions in the 1980s, so the company has been associated with tennis events in the past, but Berrettini was the first player it had ever sponsored. Berrettini is an ambassador for the other clothing line and assisted in creating a capsule collection of athletic wear for the Boss line. There was a launch of the Berrettini partnership last summer, and there will be another this year.
It’s now the turn of the female athletes. Ella Seidel and Noma Noha Akugue of Germany, two brand ambassadors, will compete in the Australian qualifying rounds wearing pieces from the new womenswear capsule.
The two athletes will be competing in cream and black, the company’s subdued colors, which are Boss tennis dresses, skirts, and layered shorts.
