Huawei Watch D Adds ECG and Blood Pressure Measurement, To Be Released on Dec. 25

Huawei unveiled the P50 Pocket, which is powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. It also comes with a gapless folding screen. Aside from the P50 Pocket, Huawei also unveiled the Watch D, which fans had been anticipating for weeks.

The Huawei Watch D smartwatch sports a colored 1.64-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It features a resolution of 456×280 pixels and a pixel density of 326 PPI. The case of the smartwatch is composed of aluminum alloy, and it comes in two colors: black and titanium.

The Huawei Watch D straps are made of fluoro-rubber and are available in medium and large sizes. The medium size measures 11.8cm in length, while the big size measures 13.3cm in length.

According to GSMArena, the Huawei Watch D also boasts a standard set of health and fitness functions such as a heart rate monitor, step counter, blood oxygen level meter, and sleep tracking.

The smartwatch’s biggest selling point, though, is its ability to record your ECG and measure your blood pressure.

According to the tech company, it has combined a high-precision pressure sensor, a low resistance gas channel, and a pressure feedback control circuit, allowing the gadget to obtain data with a minimum error margin of only 3mmHg.

The Watch D’s ECG capability is totally powered by TruSeen 5.0+ sophisticated technology. It features eight circular photoelectric sensors and two illumination sources, as well as a beautifully cut glass sapphire lens.

According to TechRadar, it also contains ECG electrodes with PVD coating that filter out any interference and can provide accurate results.

The Huawei Watch D is touted to detect arrhythmia, atherosclerosis, and sleep apnea hazards. If the smartwatch identifies any of the ailments listed above, the business provides users with rapid online consultation. Users will be directed to specialists by the smartwatch to help them better comprehend their health analyses.

Huawei claimed that it collaborated with over 300 Chinese hospitals to test the dependability and accuracy of the wristwatch functions.

The Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, in China has classed the Watch D as a Class II medical device.

Other notable features of the smartwatch include a multi-functional NFC, a temperature sensor, and IP68 protection. It is also water-resistant, so if it gets wet, you won’t have to worry about moisture accumulating.

The battery size of the Watch D has yet to be confirmed by the tech giant. However, it does state that in a typical case, it can withstand up to a week of use.

The Watch D will cost roughly $470 and will be available on December 25th.

Sale during the holidays

According to Gadgets NDTV, in addition to releasing the Watch D on Christmas Day, Huawei is also providing a holiday deal on its existing smartwatches.

The sale began on December 21 and will expire on December 30. At the moment, three Huawei smartwatches are on sale.

The Huawei Band 6 retails for $46, the Huawei Watch Fit for $99, and the Huawei Watch GT 2 for $266. Despite being removed from Google Stores in 2016, Huawei has thrived in the smartwatch market and has since developed many versions.
