How to enable Wide Spectrum Audio in FaceTime on Mac

Apple’s new macOS Monterey for Mac devices includes a number of new features and adjustments. Some of the innovations introduced by the technological behemoth concern the enhancement of audio and video operations in the FaceTime program to better the entire conversation experience.

One of these features is Wide Spectrum Mode, which incorporates every sound into your call. It improves the quality of all background noise around you, allowing your friends, family, or colleagues to hear things more clearly.

Currently, the capability is only available for Apple apps, with no support for third-party apps. We will show you how to enable Wide Spectrum Audio mode on your Apple Mac device in this step-by-step guide.

How to enable Wide Spectrum Audio in FaceTime on Mac

Step 1: On your Apple Mac device, open the FaceTime application.

Step 2: When the app opens, initiate a video or audio call to whomever you want to contact.

Step 3: After the call gets connected, click the Control Center icon on the top-right corner of the menu bar.

Step 4: Click “Mic Mode” and then select “Wide Spectrum” mode from the options.

If you followed the steps above, you will have successfully activated the Wide Spectrum Audio function on your macOS device. If you want to disable Wide Spectrum and enable Standard or Voice Isolation mode, repeat the preceding steps and select one of the Mic Mode options.
