Actress Adunni Ade has said that legendary actor Ramsey Nouah inspired her to return to Nigeria and seek a career in Nollywood.
During a recent interview on Hip TV’s Trending, hosted by KimOprah, Adunni expressed her tremendous admiration for Nouah and described how a conversation with him was the tipping moment that moved her focus from modeling in America to acting in Nigeria.
“Ramsey Nouah was the one who gave me the final push to move to Nigeria. I met him before relocating, and after discussing my goals and dreams with him, he gave me such an encouraging pep talk. That was when I decided to make the move,” she recounted.
Adunni disclosed that despite admiring Nouah, years passed before she had the chance to work with him.
“I relocated in 2011, and despite always looking up to him, I hadn’t worked with him until recently. At a film festival, I saw him and greeted him, like I always did,” she said.
To her surprise, the next day, she received an unexpected phone call from producer Chris, one of Nouah’s close friends.
“Chris called me and said, ‘Adunni, what did you do to Ramsey? He just cast you in a role!’ I was shocked and had goosebumps. Working with Ramsey on set was an incredible experience,” she recalled.
Adunni praised Nouah’s versatility and professionalism, saying, “I’ve had the privilege of seeing him as Ramsey Nouah the human being, the director, and the co-actor. He’s just an exceptional person.”
Adunni made her Nollywood debut in 2013 with the Yoruba-language film You or I, after moving to Nigeria in 2011.
She has now appeared in over 250 Nollywood films, in both English and Yoruba, establishing her reputation in the industry.
