He stated that he had high hopes for Wizkid when he was signed to Banky W’s EME Records as an up-and-coming talent.

Mr P and his companion, Paul, featured on the most recent episode of The 77 Podcast.

He remembered how he confronted several media for ignoring Wizkid when the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner arrived to play as an opening act at one of their gigs years ago.

He said that he told reporters that Wizkid would control the music industry in the near future.

“We [P-Square] were never the type of artists who looked down on anyone,” Mr P stated. If you remember, there was a viral video of a P-Square concert with Wizkid opening for us. So they [reporters] continued to interview only P-Square, and we were like, okay, guys, hang on a second. And what about him? They stated… “No, I said, this guy will take over tomorrow.”

With over four billion streams, Wizkid is currently the most streamed African artist on Spotify. His song ‘Essence,’ which featured Tems, is the longest-charting Nigerian single on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
