The award-winning Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, better known by his stage name, Davido, secretly married his long-time lover, Chioma Rowland, only five days after their son died, glamsquad reports.

Remember that on November 1st, the internet was ablaze with reports of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, drowning in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos State.
According to reports, Chioma’s kinsmen prevented the Adeleke family from burying Ifeanyi, claiming that the deceased was their son because Chioma was not legally married to Davido. A custom practiced in some parts of Igbo Land.
It was reported that Chioma’s bride price was paid in a quiet and secret traditional marriage ceremony in Lagos on Friday, November 4, 2022, before the deceased was buried on November 5.
Davido’s family, the Adelekes, were hosted by Chioma’s kinsmen from Ezeala Odu, Owerre Nkwoji, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, at Chioma’s family house in Lekki, Lagos, where the traditional marriage took place on November 4, 2022.
On Monday, January 2, 2023, the final marriage rites were reported to be performed in Chioma’s hometown of Imo State, but not confirmed.
