In February 2022, the Nigerian-American dancer made headlines after her white husband, Doctor Justin Dean, accused her of cheating.

Korra confesses to cheating on her husband during an Instagram live session in May 2022, explaining that it was a one-time affair.

“I’m not a chronic cheat; far from it,” she explained. I had an affair before coming to America during Trump’s administration. And that affair only lasted one date; I’m sorry.

Yul Edochie

In April 2022, the actor created news when he introduced Judy Austin as his second wife.

Many Nigerians, including fellow entertainers like Daddy Freeze, Uche Maduagwu, Uche Ogbodo, Rita Edochie, among others, expressed their disappointment in him.

Damola Olatunji

Popular Yoruba actress, Bukola Awoyemi, professionally called Bukola Arugba, had earlier separated from her husband, actor Damola Olatunji.

She moved out of the actor’s house over alleged infidelity, a rumour denied by the actor.

Reacting to the trend, the President of the Association of Entertainment Practitioners and former Chairman, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter, Onwurah Agility, said: “I think it’s because we are in the eyes of people; every story whether it is what it is or not, is trending.

“And no matter what it is, sometimes most of us that are celebrities are being pushed to so many things. For instance, me as the Chairman, at a point, my wife needs to understand because if you open my phone most of the time to see what people are sending to me, If you don’t have a strong heart, you might not withstand it.

“Most of these are temptations because we are men. But you need to build a good relationship with your spouse. Build a trust that can serve because everywhere that you are going there’s always temptations, and we used to have it in the university, but now common in the offices.

“The solution is to try more communication because sometimes it’s a little communication gap that makes you fall into temptations and some of these things that are happening.

“Sometimes people think infidelity is an adventure that will just start and go, and sometimes people want to think that it is a one-off thing. After doing the one-off, then you continue doing it because there are ways crime seems to give you a brief joy, but the end is always issues and problems.”

Similarly, an Abuja-based relationship expert, Adewole Johnson, while speaking with glamsquad, listed bad role models, peer pressure, not being accountable, desire for a different type of sex and a sense of entitlement as causes of cheating in celebrity relationships.

He stated that a sense of entitlement makes many celebrities and prominent individuals feel they can cheat on their partners with impunity.

“Celebrities are constantly in the cheating scandal because they feel infidelity is the norm because of the companies they keep. Those who watch their fathers, friends or others they look up to cheat, will sometimes emulate that behaviour.

“Also, many of them want to satisfy sexual curiosity caused by their desire for a different type of sex,” he said.

Speaking on the solution, he urged prominent individuals to be accountable to their partners.

“Finally, spend quality time with your spouse,” he advised
