How 21-year-old died at Lagos party after mixing hard drugs

Michael Arigbabuwo, 21, died at a birthday party while allegedly mixing hard drugs for maximum effect, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

This was stated on Twitter on Saturday by Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin.

In addition to stating that three of his friends who were also present at the party had been arrested, Hundeyin stated that the incident took place on Friday in the Ikorodu neighborhood of Lagos.

According to information provided to the police in Ikorodu, a distress call was received at around 7.30 p.m. on Friday reporting that a group of “Yahoo” boys had brought a corpse to the Igbogbo neighborhood of Ikorodu.

“Based on the information, teams of detectives visited and photographed the scene. Three young men of ages 23 and 24 were arrested.

“The suspects claimed that the deceased allegedly smoked loud and drank codeine at a birthday party of one of their friends held at Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.

“The suspects further claimed that the deceased began gasping for breath. He was rushed to the hospital but died,” he said.

According to the spokesman, the body was taken away and deposited at the General Hospital in Ikorodu for an autopsy.

Hundeyin cautioned young people against using drugs, emphasizing the dire consequences for their lives.

“Thinking of doing drugs? Have a rethink as nothing fruitful emanates from it.

“Investigation into the case has commenced,” he said.
