Tamar Braxton Hospitalized After 'Possible Overdose'

Tamar Braxton is awake and responsive following her hospitalization due to a possible suicide attempt.

According to E! News, the American singer and reality TV personality is “awake and communicating” as she’s being transferred to a “new hospital specializing in mental health care.”

Tamar Estine Braxton is an American singer, actress, and television personality. Braxton began her career in 1990 as a founding member of The Braxtons, an R&B singing group formed with her sisters.

The Braxtons released their debut album, So Many Ways, as a trio in 1996, and disbanded shortly afterward.

An insider who spoke to the news outlet said, “Tamar is not out of the woods by any means. Doctors are still keeping a very close eye on her for her safety.

Tamar has been committed to working on her mental health for some time, but she experienced some setbacks during the last year, finding quarantine to be particularly difficult.”

The 43-year-old star’s health update comes a few days after she was found unconscious by her boyfriend, David Adefeso, who called 911.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that they received a phone call around 9:57 p.m. PST for an unconscious adult female, who was being transported to a nearby hospital.

It was reported that she and David were staying at the hotel “trying to relax and have a bit of a staycation.”

The reality TV star had taken some medication and had been drinking before she was found unconscious.
