“There’s nothing wrong with loving who you are”

She said, “‘Cause HE made you perfect, babe”

“So hold your head up and you’ll go far….

These now legendary lyrics from LADY GAGA rang through day 2 of #HeinekenLFDW when the “Curvy collective” and “ABOUT THAT CURVY LIFE” hit the runway.
Opened by the sensational voice of Issac Gerald, we saw the designer behind Style Infidel strut the runway
in his designs.. finally! a MW brand that caters to the average sized African male..

For Womenswear, the “ATCL”  team sent beautiful curvy women in red wigs and long pink ponytails dressed in amazing printed dresses down the runway.  Radio presenter and “Curvanista” Toolz Oniru closed the show in a gorgeous printed V neck Maxi.

LOZA Maleombho is fast becoming a staple of #HeinekenLfdw and with each season the collections get better and better. Showcasing another strong collection featuring Gingham seperates, cut out detailing and hessian fabrications, our ivorian sister brings-it! EVERYTIME.

GREY showcased vibrant outfits which brought a much needed dose of colour to proceedings. Their uncomplicated aesthetic has segwayed into designing a clean and unfussy  MW collection which also featured monochrome with matching Fila’s.

Other highlights of the evening include the collections from  Elie Kuame, a Belgium-born, Ivory Coast-raised,  fashion designer, a new comer to #HeinekenLFDW whose chic and feminine collection was very well received by the audience. The collection featured the use of delicate fabrics like silk, chiffon and satin, pieces that brush against the skin.

Following on from the successful launch of David x Orange Culture in Selfridges London last month the collection has been brought back to home soil. The Davido collection takes the classic tee and shirt and puts a spin on it with the word ‘If’ finely stitched onto the garments in a contrast thread. This is in reference to Davido’s hit song.
