Hailey & Kendall Love: The Women Behind The “Kiwi” Label

If there’s one thing you should know about designers Paris Mitchell and Georgia Cherrie, it’s that they got their business acumen from their mothers.

“We both had single, hard-working and incredibly inspiring mothers who started their own businesses,” Mitchell said in an interview recently.

“They used to tell us how good we’d be in business together and it stuck. We were raised with the belief that the world was our oyster. In hindsight, we realise how much of a privilege this was – it never crossed our minds that being a woman could be a disadvantage to our success.”

Having met at the tender age of 14 at high school in Auckland, success has become the pair’s mantra – and being female has proven key to how they’ve gone on to achieve it. From It-girls like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Hailey Bieber to world leaders like Jacinda Ardern, women the world over are drawn to Paris Georgia.

“We feel humbled and so proud to see influential women wearing Paris Georgia,” Mitchell says.

“From musicians like Solange to supermodels like Kendall Jenner and the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern… they are all so diverse in their ages, bodies and backgrounds. To see them wearing Paris Georgia gives us confidence in our brand, to know we are designing clothes these women feel comfortable in.”
