Since the Oscar nominations have not yet been announced, celebrities can run for a chance to win one of the coveted nominations. This year, Mel Brooks and Angela Bassett received honorary Oscars for their contributions. The Governor’s Awards are almost like an Oscar precursor.
Though not quite as extravagant and colorful as the Golden Globes, the attire was still fascinating. The night’s predominant colors were black, red, and pink. Emma Stone and Florence Pugh wore shimmering dresses to represent the pink, while Margot Robbie broke out of her Barbie wardrobe with a black column gown featuring cutouts and sparkling straps.
