Golden Globe 2017 – Best & Worse Dressed

It’s officially award season in Hollywood and it’s time to review. We never want anybody to ever be on these lists, but we can’t help it if not everyone gets it right! The stars kicked off the 2017 award season with 74th Annual Golden Globes and Jimmy Fallon being the host. While watching the red carpet, I saw some themes going on. This red carpet was full with black, navy, yellow, sparkly and grey dresses. Zuhair Murad was the definitely the designer who dressed most female stars, Meryl Streep maybe didn’t make our list but she had the night with her speech.

Best Dressed:

1.Lilly Collins: was a modern-day princess with elegant rose-colored Zuhair Murad Couture gown. Even if you’re not a fan of ball gowns and pink, the detailing made it stunning. In addition, with a red lip and a braided updo, it made the dress more noticeable.

2. Mandy Moore: Mandy is currently starring in the hit show “This Is Us” and made her dramatic day debut with a navy plunging gown by Naeem Khan. This gown featured a long cape and a neckline so low you didn’t see any tape involved. The design also featured a sheer, flowy bottom.

3.Tracee Ellis Ross: Last night, Tracee made history as the first black woman n to win for actress in a comedy series since Debbie Allen in 1983! She hit the red carpet with a blinged out dressed by Zuhair Murad 2016 couture collection. To add an extra oomph to glamor, she was stacked with diamond rings on each finger. The unexpected statement jewelry gave her dress more glitz and glam!

4.Gina Rodriguez: No one really talked about this dress that much on the red carpet but I just had to because it’s beyond gorgeous. Gina definitely needs some praise on this one! Wearing a shimmering white beaded gown featuring a neckline, the television star sleeked her hair in a side curl pin-up bob. This dress will include in Naeem Khan Brides Spring 2017 Collection!

5.Blake Lively: According  to Fisayo Longe “there has to be a fashion throne for Blake Lively in heaven”,  and I totally agree cause gurrlll, she brings it every time, pregnant or not.  showing off post-pregnancy figure in a black velvet gown designed by Versace. The actress to took a sophisticated and sexy gown to a new level. The neckline plunged low to reveal a little cleavage and also had embellished gold pockets.

6. Kristen Bell: stuns in modern 80’s glamor with a cutout dress showing off her body. Designed by Jenny Packham.

7. Jessica Biel: Her Elie Saab gown was far from the usual Elie Saab minimalist. Very plunged neckline cutting right down above her navel. The gown also included delegate flowers on a checkered like print.

8.Janelle Monae: Hit the red carpet the first time as an actress, starring in Hidden Figures. Her dress was custom Armani Prive black sequin, wide neck bodysuit dress featuring a bubble hem silk skirt with polka dots. So classic and fun. To complement her look, she chose nude make-up and for hair, she had tiny pearls in her bun! No kidding, people didn’t come here to play but slay only

Worst Dressed :
This was really hard to cope with to be very honest,  but this is fashion and we have to say it as it is.

1.Nicole Kidman:  she must have not been in a great mood or maybe there was a wardrobe issue and her style team had to go with this. Nicole Kidman’s silver-sequin ivory gown was distressed with a tulle train from summer 2017 Alexander McQueen collection. It might have been a trend in their department but it wasn’t enough to save to her.

2.Kerry Washington:  Kerry Kerry Kerry. We truly can not get it right all the time. I want to be her but not right now. Because the details on the upper part of the dress is gorgeous up close.  We all know she usually slays but she walked on the carpet with an embellished gown by Dolce & Gabbana and it seemed like  much going on or maybe it’s the semi A-line almost ankle length cut, something isn’t just right as I wasn’t sure if to look up or down .

3.Sophia Turner:
Where do we even begin? The black and white Louis Vuitton gown caught many eyes. Not in a good way. The gown was sheer in some parts and has sparkly fabric. It was a cut low at the chest and had a small slit. This gown just seemed too much on her, love her hair though.

4. Natalie Portman:
this was a beautiful dress,  the color,  cut and details,  it would have maybe made the best dressed list but it someone in he 60’s wore, we get the freedom you want a way from very fitted cloths when pregnant but this was so not age appropriate.

5.Anna Chlumsky: It’s hard to give people the award of worst dressed but Anna must have gotten a different memo . Anna’s dress draped over her whole body. It very hurtful  to look at  women in ancient Greece must be offended. Like she ripped a curtain off and wrapped it a rounder her,  no fit whatsoever.

6.Octavia Spencer:  Love Octavia,  Loved her since the Help,  loved that’s she tried to support her friend by wearing a piece she made for her on the red carpet but was expecting a lot more from her after last year’s golden globes . The color was beautiful on her but the outfit was gas from flattering.

7.Felicity Jones: Walked on the carpet with a Gucci black and bubble gum pink dress. The black detailing is way too much and the dressed might have been saved. Not only the dress but the makeup and jewelry makes it so boring but then again the dress stole the show…

8.Carrie Underwood: Arrived in a light pink Iris Serban dress. The dress was simple at the bottom but had overwhelming ruffles at the top. The color looks fabulous on her but the ruffles made the dress ugly. During an interview with Ryan Seacrest, she said that she picked up the dress last minute due to her busy schedule. Really not a great choice.
