In what can be tagged a devastating incident, the former president of the United States of America (USA), Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt.
On Saturday, 13th July, Trump, 73 was rushed off stage minutes into his rally in Pennsylvania after gunshots were fired towards him.
Trump was speaking as the rally had kicked off when gunshots were heard. He reached for the side of his face as blood gushed out while the popping sounds rang out over the rally.
Immediately, Secret Service officials shouted at Trump to get down as they rushed to the stage and surrounded him.
Trump was quickly escorted into a vehicle, walking off the stage with agents on all sides.
The Secret Service spokesperson, Anthony Guglielmi shared a tweet on microbloggig platform, X.
“The former president is safe.
An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former president is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,”

The shooter, identified as a Chinese man, was in a sniper position located hundreds of yards away from Trump’s podium in Butler, Pennsylvania as he spoke to a campaign crowd.
It is worth noting that while Trump was being escorted off the stage, he kept on chanting Fight! Fight! Fight!.
While social media users send their sympathy, others, including Cable Network News (CNN) have criticized him for chanting Fight! bearing in mind how the US capitol riot on 6th January 2021 began.
