HIPPY TREND
Stepping straight out of 1970s Marrakech, these long, light and flowing dresses will billow in the breeze this season as you take on the elements in style. The luxury bohemian trend, inspired by Talitha Getty’s iconic hippie-chic look, took to the runway in powder pink silhouettes.
OPTICAL MONOCHROME
Black and white went graphic on the runway, as designers presented intricately geometric patterns, Rorschach-style motifs and trompe l’œil effects. The prints of the season created hypnotic images and optical illusions.
VELVET TREND
Shimmering, silky velvet was used as never before this season, creating an androgynous pajama-style suit, and Sixties-inspired dresses. On the runway, the fabric brought a soft halo to each piece as it caught the light, for a sensual feel.
MIXED PRINTS TREND
Fashion designers have been playing at mixing prints in ensembles for years, but in the last few years some designers, such as Marc Jacobs and Dries van Noten, have really embraced this trend, leaving many women to wonder whether or not they should try to wear mixed prints.
It is no wonder that women find mixed prints puzzling. Luckily, wearing mixed prints certainly is not a “must-do” for a woman who wants to be considered stylish.
