Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are said to have broken up after the model’s mother Yolanda claimed the musician had “struck” her during a recent altercation.
‘At the moment, they are not together. But they’re both terrific parents,’ a source told People on Thursday, adding that the former couple’s one-year-old daughter Khai is “co-parented.”
Zayn and Gigi have been dating on and off since 2015, and they are expecting their first child in September 2020. In the spring of that year, Hadid announced her pregnancy.
‘They are co-parenting. Of course, Yolanda is very protective of Gigi. ‘She only wants the best for her granddaughter and daughter.’

When Malik came to Twitter on Thursday to address the serious allegations brought against him by Yolanda, he appeared to hint to his and Gigi’s breakup.
In a statement, Zayn claimed that the public disclosure of a “private matter” had threatened the “safe zone” in which he and the 26-year-old model “co-parent” their child, implying that they are no longer together.
According to TMZ, Yolanda claims Zayn’struck’ her during an altercation that occurred ‘sometime last week,’ while Zayn believes the incident was nothing more than an exchange of ‘sharp words’ that occurred ‘several weeks ago’ at Gigi’s house.
Yolanda is reportedly considering filing a police report, according to the publication. There were no police reports on file as of Thursday, October 28.
There have been no further information released about what may have sparked the purported altercation between the two.
