Actress Funke Akindele has expressed her gratitude for the chance to empower 175 crew members who were instrumental in the production of her forthcoming film, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
In a Tuesday Instagram post, Funke shared a behind-the-scenes photo with her team, praising their steadfast dedication and tireless effort in making the movie a reality.
The actress disclosed that the film was completely self-funded and took pride in offering opportunities to a skilled crew, highlighting that 95% of the team were young professionals demonstrating their talents.
She also lauded the flawless cooperation between Nigerian and Ghanaian crew members, emphasizing her dedication to fostering the upcoming generation and providing them with a platform to thrive in the industry.

She wrote, “Proud moment! I want to celebrate the incredible 175 crew members who worked tirelessly for nine weeks to bring Everybody Loves Jenifa to life!
“As a self-funded project, I’m honoured to have empowered a team of talented individuals, with 95% of them being young people, to showcase their skills.”
Funke further highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration, giving a special shout-out to the Nigerian and Ghanaian crew members who worked together effortlessly.
“I believe in empowering the next generation and giving them opportunities to shine. And shine they did! Get ready for the movie’s release in December.”
Earlier in April, Funke announced that Everybody Loves Jenifa, a highly anticipated spinoff from her popular Jenifa franchise, is set to premiere in December.
