A few days ago, Glamsquad reported that Funke has predicted that “Everybody Loves Jenifa” will earn N5 billion when it opens in theaters this December.
Speaking alongside members of the film’s cast in a widely shared video, Funke expressed hope that the film will earn N5 billion this year.
“This year, we’re making N5 billion,” she stated. If the anticipated amount is met, the film will surpass the previous record set by Funke Akindele’s “A Tribe Called Judah”
Over the past years, Funke Akindele has cemented her status as the reigning Queen of the Box Office, making history in January 2023 as the first Nigerian filmmaker to surpass the N1 billion mark in cinema earnings.
Her groundbreaking film, A Tribe Called Judah, raked in an impressive N1.4 billion, further solidifying her dominance. This milestone came as no surprise, given her reputation as one of Nollywood’s most industrious talents. Over the past three years, her films – A Tribe Called Judah, Battle on Buka Street, and Omo Ghetto: The Saga have set unprecedented records, becoming the highest-grossing Nollywood productions of all time.
