French actress, Eva Green wins High Court dispute over $1 million film fee

Eva Green, a French actress, prevailed in a High Court lawsuit involving her $1 million (£810,000) fee for a sci-fi movie that was never made.

After the movie flopped due to a controversial disagreement with the producers, the Casino Royale star sued White Lantern Film, claiming she was owed the money.

The decision was made in response to a trial in January, during which it was revealed that Ms. Green had branded one producer a “moron” and another “evil” in text conversations.

White Lantern alleged that her “unreasonable demands” caused the movie A Patriot to be ruined.

Judge Mr. Justice Green dismissed White Lantern’s counterclaim on Friday and said that the 42-year-old actress was entitled to her pay.

He said Ms Green “did not renounce her obligations” under her contract, as White Lantern had claimed, “nor did she commit any repudiatory breaches of it”.
