Former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has deleted a tweet congratulating Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his election victory in Nigeria, glamsquad reports
Sirleaf took to Twitter on Monday, March 6, to say: “Congratulations to @officialABAT on his win in #Nigeria, and thank you to the Nigerian people for exercising their democratic right to vote. I urge the new President to champion #WomenLeaders in his administration and to keep women’s and girls’ rights a top priority.”
As with other tweets from world leaders congratulating Tinubu, Nigerians flocked to the comments section to express their displeasure.
Sirleaf has since deleted her congratulatory message and has not stated why.
