The Dutch avant-garde luxury fashion brand called Viktor & Rolf was established in 1993 by Viktor Horsting (born in Geldrop in 1969) and Rolf Snoeren (born 1969, Dongen). Viktor & Rolf have worked to dispel fashion myths and reunite the worlds of art and fashion for more than twenty years. Designers Viktor & Rolf have created both ready-to-wear and haute couture collections. The couple is well known for their cutting-edge designs, which largely focus on theatrical and performing fashion runways.
In 1989, Rolf Snoeren and Viktor Horsting first crossed paths when enrolled in the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design. The two started working together and moved to Paris after graduating in 1992. The fashion business initially avoided Viktor & Rolf, although the designers were well-liked in the art world. The designers started selling their clothing to art institutions like the Groninger Museum.
The flamboyant silhouettes, clever material choices, and irreverent ideas that the designers would later become renowned for were first seen in early shows. In 2000, Viktor & Rolf unveiled their brand image, a wax seal with the initials V&R, and started applying their creative skills to ready-to-wear collections.
The designers debuted a male line in 2003, and it coexisted with the women’s brand until 2009. Additionally, Viktor & Rolf produced perfumes, including the male scents Spicebomb (2006) and Antidote (2006), as well as the female scents Flowerbomb (2004) and Bonbon (2014). (2012). The designers resumed their haute couture work in 2015 after stopping their ready-to-wear endeavors, stating that they intended to “push the frontiers of wearability, function, and form.”
However, their 2023 collection seem to be my best with the unique way it was created. See some below;
