Mario Prada and his brother Martino founded Prada in 1913. The fashion house is regarded as one of the most iconic brands in fashion history. Mario Prada did not believe that women should work outside the home and excluded women from working for his company. However, his son was not interested in the family business and the business was later succeeded by his daughter Luisa Prada who also handed it over to her daughter Muccia Prada. After Mario’s death, Luisa Prada ran the family business for twenty years before handing it over to her daughter.
