In this week’s fashion history episode, we will be taking a look at the fashion of the 1990s.

Fashion has evolved over the years from the introduction of magazines the what people wear during and after the world war. The reduction in the length of skirts during the 1930s and the introduction of utility clothes during the 1940s.

The 1990s witnessed the end of the second century and during this face, fashion became a lot more casual. Both men and women adopted grunge fashion in the early part of the decade and loose, oversized clothing and jeans became staples.

The sportswear trends of the eighties continued into the early nineties with biker shorts, leggings, Keds, and oversized sweatshirts continuing to be favorite choices for young women.

The mini skirt and punk Style which was quite popular in the 1960s and 1970s were reintroduced. Vintage clothing also started to gain ground leading to the introduction of second-hand clothing stores. Jeans with wide legs or sweatshirts worn over turtlenecks were popular in the early part of the decade for both genders.

The mid-90s witnessed a more feminine womenswear collection involving slip dresses and so on.
