Late last year, October to be precise we were all downhearted imagining, no more street style till the following year (2017). But I guess your secret fairy has been listening, or if you’re Christian; God.
Taking a drift from just showcasing Spring/Summer acts, Lagos Fashion Design Week (LFDW) is set for their pioneer Autumn/Winter showcase. Through Style House files, the show (LFDW) has given a platform and launched the best of Nigerian designers to the international scene. Some of which include: Bayo Oke-Lawal’s, Orange Culture, Amaka Osakwe’s Maki Oh amongst others.
Commencing from the 30th of this month, designers will have models strut the stage in their fall pieces at the suburbs of Victoria Island. The 4-day show is set to take place at Red door Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Victoria Island, Lagos. Red door Gallery also serves as official partners for the event. With the Apparel and Footwear industry in African valued at $31 billion, according to EuroMonitor, LFDW x identity poses a greater indication to sprout this number.
This year’s show like others will feature presentation of nine (9) high-end African designers including, Orange Culture, Maki Oh, Post-Imperial, Kelechi Odu, Lisa Folawiyo, AAKS, Ré, Shem Paronelli, and twin sister designers; Gozel Green.
