Falz criticizes President Tinubu’s silence on nationwide protests

Nigerian singer and rapper, Folarin Falana better known as Falz has broken his silence on the ongoing nationwide protests against bad governance.

As the protests entered Day 2, Falz who has used his used his music to address several issues affecting the country took to his X page to question President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s silence on protest.

He questioned why it’s so difficult for leaders to show empathy and asked how long the president intends to ignore the people’s concerns before the situation becomes worse.

The ‘This is Nigeria’ crooner emphasized the importance of compassionate leadership and urged the president to address the protests instead of dismissing them as politically driven.

He tweeted,

“Genuinely don’t know why it’s so difficult to be humane. They say make you leave am, you no gree. Say na your birthright. You can’t now turn a deaf ear. You tried to make it look like the protests were “politically motivated”. Shebi una don see now? How long do you think you can keep on pushing the people back before it blows up in your face ?”

In other news, rapper, Vector urged some of his colleagues who are supporting the government of the day to choose wisely.

Over the years, some celebrities have joined partisan politics or openly declared their support for politicians.

Vector who had taken to the streets to join in the protest urged celebrities to support the people clamouring for the good of the country. He warned that the hardship would eventually affect them if it wasn’t stopped.

He tweeted,

“To the celebrities taking sides against the reality of their own people/fans, it may be best to repent before you become the only reachable option if the hardship doesn’t stop. Stop supporting bad governance.”
