Elon Musk has mocked US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for criticizing his decision to charge verified Twitter users $8 per month for the Twitter Blue Tick, glamsquad reports.
On Wednesday night, AOC took to Twitter, writing, “Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan.”
Elon Musk responded, saying, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8.”

After a few hours, the congresswoman joked on Twitter that she had “gotten under a certain billionaire’s skin,” followed by a laughing emoji.
“Just a friendly reminder that money will never buy you out of insecurity, folks,” she wrote.

Musk also tweeted a screenshot of an Ocasio-Cortez merchandise sweatshirt with the price of $58 circled and a thinking face emoji.
Ocasio-Cortez defended the price of the sweatshirt while also taking another shot at the billionaire.
“My workers are union, have full healthcare + benefits like childcare help, and are all paid a living wage,” she wrote. Proceeds support community projects such as tutoring underserved children. You’re a union buster with an ego problem who takes advantage of people by underpaying and mistreating them.”
