Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, is now the most followed person on the platform, glamsquad reports
Musk surpassed Barack Obama as the most followed Twitter user this week, with 133.08 million followers to Obama’s 133.04 million.
Following the Super Bowl on February 12, the Twitter CEO directed company engineers to develop a special system that boosts his tweets.
According to sources, Musk requested the redesign after his Super Bowl tweet received fewer impressions than a similar tweet from President Joe Biden.
The billionaire deleted his ‘flopped’ tweet and threatened to fire his engineering team if the engagement issue was not resolved.
Musk’s Twitter follower count has risen since, and at the time of writing, he has 133,089,608 followers to Obama’s 133,042,468.
Interestingly, this means that Obama’s follower count has dropped in a matter of hours, while Musk’s is still growing, according to data published earlier by The Verge.
