Actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh’s political ambition may have been cut short as the actress faces been disqualified as the Rivers State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside Mr Tonte Ibraye, by Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.

Glamsquad Magazine reported on the day the actress happily declared via her Instagram that she will be running for deputy governor alongside Mr Tonte Ibraye under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for Rivers State.
The applicant, Dr. Wright Promise Warmate, a former chairman of the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, is asking for Mr. Ibraye to be disqualified for failing to follow the party’s rules for the governorship primary in the originating summons filed against the ADC, Mr. Ibraye, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to Dr. Warmate, Ibraye failed to meet the party’s deadline in payment for his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

Dr. Warmate is hoping for his declaration as the lawful governorship candidate of the ADC for Rivers State, being the only aspirant that met the party’s deadline and conditions.
The matter has been reportedly adjourned to July 28, 2022, for an accelerated hearing.
