Nollywood veteran actor and filmmaker, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, better known as Kanayo O. Kanayo has shared a powerful message with Netizens , urging them not to rely on anyone for their success or well-being.

Taking to his Instagram page to share a photo of him on a movie set, he emphasized the importance of self-reliance and hard work, encouraging his followers to take control of their own destinies. He explained that even your own shadow abandons you in the dark, highlighting the need to rely on yourself rather than expecting others to always be there.

He wrote,

A few months back, Kanayo Kanayo called out Nigerians who feel entitled and lack a sense of gratitude. He questioned why some people are so ungrateful, wondering why someone would receive money and respond with just a “Seen” message. Describing this as an “inheritance mentality,” he emphasized that unspoken gratitude is essentially a form of spoken ingratitude.

Speaking about a standard family, Glamsquad reported that Kanayo O. Kanayo started a debate on social media after sharing powerful advice with men on the importance of financial responsibility in marriage.

In a video making rounds on social media, Kanayo O. Kanayo boldly stated that any man who cannot provide for his family has forfeited his right to intimacy.

He stressed that providing for one’s family is not just a casual obligation but a fundamental cornerstone of marriage.

Kanayo made reference to holy scriptures and emphasized that a man’s responsibility to his household is divinely ordained. Taking a swipe at women, the veteran cautioned them against protecting their husbands’ financial struggles. He noted that while it is important to stand by their partners in tough times, he warned that turning a blind eye to ongoing laziness or financial irresponsibility only enables bad behaviour.
