Roc Nation boss, Jay Z, Mavin boss, Don Jazzy and Mavin first lady, Tiwa Savage were pictured in New York at the Roc Nation Headquarters and this reveals that a deal has been struck and signed.
The much publicized signing of Tiwa Savage and Don Jazzy (on a management role and partnership) with Roc Nation has been finalized.
However, you will recall that this is not the first time an artiste under Don Jazzy is signing for an International Label. A few years ago, Dbanj signed for G.O.O.D Music owned and managed by Kayne West and this resulted in the splitting of Mo’Hits.
In a recent interview, it was revealed that Don Jazzy never wanted the deal to go through and this angered Dbanj. According to Don Jazzy, the deal meant they will leave Nigeria and start working in the USA under Kayne West and the Don taught it wasn’t a good idea since they already had a strong reputation in Nigeria and were rising higher by the day.
In Don Jazzy’s words, it was not a good idea to leave certainty for uncertainty and after the drama of Dbanj leaving the Label to run after Kanye West, it seems the Don was right after all. Dbanj is back in Nigeria to continue his hustle when he noticed things were not working but it just looks like it is too late.
Don Jazzy however has eased concerned fans that Tiwa Savage’s deal will not split Mavin like Dbanj spited Mo’Hits, this he said is because both of them are on the same page.
