Nigerian musician and Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy has hailed the hard work put into the brand by his team and noted that they are “taking over the world.’’
Don Jazzy expressed his excitement during the sixth and last episode of Don Jazzy Radio, his Apple Music 1 monthly series.
The music producer reminisced on how far he and his team have gone to build one of the biggest entertainment brands on the globe, which has produced the likes of Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Reekado Banks, Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Johnny Drille, Korede Bello, and more.
Don Jazzy said:
“I’m super excited to complete this milestone of one season of my radio show. It has been an awesome journey. To wrap things up, I brought my backbone(s) on the show, the guys that made it all happen from behind the scenes. In this episode we dissect the structure, the brand and the monster we have created with Mavins that is taking over the world. Again, thanks for an amazing season on the Don Jazzy Radio Show. Osheeee!”
It will be recalled that in a 2021 chat on The Afrobeat Podcast, Don Jazzy revealed that he discovered some of his singers on Instagram and hailed the talent identification prowess of his partner D’Prince.
“There are different ways we discover artists at Mavin. First of all D’prince has a mad skill to discover artists. He found Rema from Instagram, he has the talent of sieving through the noise and finds the artists that fits me. We also found Ayra Starr on Instagram so young artists need to know that its 2021 and social media is a great tool to promote their songs and career.’’
Rema is currently the biggest star on Mavin Records. His “Raves and Roses” 2022 debut album gained him global recognition, with one of the tracks, “Calm Down,” becoming one of the biggest songs in the world in 2022.
