Domestic Violence: Toke Makinwa admonishes her gender to do better

Media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa has criticised her gender over their reaction to women who suffer domestic violence.

Toke expressed her frustration on her Twitter about how women are often criticized for speaking out about domestic violence.

She stated that she hates it when women sometimes shame other women the most. She encouraged them to do better by either staying silent if they have nothing positive to contribute or being supportive.

Toke also advised against the “she’s overdoing it” mentality and encouraged them to speak out.

She wrote:

“I hate that it’s women who sometimes try to shame other women the most. If someone comes out to share her experience let’s do better by either keeping quiet if we don’t have anything good to say or be supportive. Stop with the “she’s doing too much”, let her do pls”.
