Dior Signs Skateboarder Aurélien Giraud as Ambassador

Dior, the luxury fashion house synonymous with elegance and sophistication, has recently announced its collaboration with professional skateboarder Aurélien Giraud as their brand ambassador. This unexpected partnership signifies a shift towards diversification and youthful appeal for the renowned French label. With his unrivaled talent and infectious charisma, Giraud perfectly embodies Dior’s new direction in reaching wider audiences beyond their traditional clientele.

He won’t be seen at work wearing Dior’s oversized Skater B9S sneakers. In that regard, Giraud is sponsored by skateboard shoe manufacturer Etnies. He will compete in the Games donning the official Stéphane Ashpool-designed jerseys, which are made by French sportswear company Le Coq Sportif.

Even so, he has plenty of time to make an impression before the French teams enter the arena on July 26 wearing Berluti outfits—which, like Dior, are owned by luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

Dior demonstrates its relentless pursuit of relevance and staying ahead of cultural trends while adding a touch of rebelliousness to their otherwise refined image.

In the lead-up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024, skateboarder Pauline Déroulède, gymnast Melanie de Jesus dos Santos, and surfer Kauli Vaast are among the athletes Dior has signed.
