The collection delves into the archives of the French fashion house, specifically those from April 1962, when then-creative director Marc Bohan went to India, specifically Mumbai and Delhi, to start conversations between France and India. Bohan’s international adventures heralded a new period for Dior, one that welcomed younger customers and a more modern design approach into the Maison.
Chiuri chose a distinct, kaleidoscopic color palette that emphasizes timeless design codes, thereby crystallizing Bohan’s trailblazing work and Swali’s inspirations. The line, which reworks her trademark silhouettes, features a color-block sequence of silks in green, yellow, pink, and purple on upscale evening coats, sari-inspired straight skirts, and traditional Indian attire.

The silk-infused collection also features a slew of shiny trousers, boleros, jackets, and tops, fusing heritage and fashion histories. Across the collection, the artistic design technique spotlights the intrinsic skillsets supplied by the Chanakya School of Craft, with the ultimate intention of empowering a woman’s inventiveness directly on the female form.
