Dior Runway Show for Paris Fashion Week FW23 Ready To Wear Collection were everything we expected and more as the fashion house brought a slice of the 80s to the 21st century with the flay skirt and long socks.
The fashion show started with models parading the runway provided for them with shiny balls hanging above the stage and audience as a whole.
Perhaps there was a hint of Catherine Dior in the opening look—an open-necked white shirt tucked into a black pencil skirt—as well as the later blurred chine flowered dresses.
A black leather holster covered in laser-cut flowers was slung secretly across one shoulder of a black shirt, perhaps as a tribute to all the brave women of the French Resistance, Catherine Dior’s sisters-in-arms. Chiuri’s accessories are playful: platform-soled ankle-strapped shoes redone with Roger Vivier’s famous “Choc” heels from the 1947 New Look collection; and jewelry with miniature Eiffel Towers dangling from rings and the center of pearl chokers.
