Creative Director, Jean Paul Gaultier produced some remarkable designs for the Haute Couture Week. As you know, I’m a lover of details in clothes and accessories as I believe even the tiniest of detail makes a cloth or accessories sparkle although most of the time people focus on the clothes that are on exhibit and neglect the accessories, which are one of the most crucial features given that fashion is incomplete without the right accessory.
The fashion house which has always been known to be trendsetters produced some astonishing designs which will be remembered in history.
It was exquisite: a black cut-glass tailcoat with an interwoven silken pleated bib, then another tailcoat so razor-sharp it appeared as though a white shirt had cut itself on its lines, with fragments spilling out from its cuffs and clasp.
One flawlessly perfect fitted silhouette followed another, with bustiers and evening blouses that were moulded like ceramics on the body and piercing plumes bursting out from necklines like poetry in motion. Thanks to Jean Paul Gaultier, who requested the French designer to make his fourth guest-designed haute couture show, Haider Ackermann was back.
