Dayo Kujore: Veteran Juju musician dies at 63

Dayo Kujore, a veteran Juju musician, died at the age of 63.

According to his daughter, Dayo Kujore, Kujore, one of the pioneers of the Nigerian-styled musical art form, died on Monday.

The circumstances behind the ‘Soko Extra’ singer’s death have yet to be revealed, as the family is anticipated to make an official statement.

On April 4, 1958, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Juju legend was born.

On April 4, 2022, he would have turned 64.

He began playing the guitar at the age of ten and rose to fame for inventing Soko music, a new kind of Juju music.

Elevation, Wisdom, Joy, Easy Life, and the famous Soko Xtra are some of his albums.
