Award-winning Afrobeats singer, Davido has strongly refuted claims of seeking full custody of his daughter, Imade, from her mother, Sophia Momodu.
The claims come amid the heated dispute over joint custody between the parents. Davido’s request for joint custody was fiercely contested by Sophia, who filed a comprehensive 109-paragraph counter-affidavit explaining why Imade should remain in her custody.

Although Davido explicitly requested joint custody, Netizens on social media have accused him of leveraging his influence as a celebrity to secure full custody of Imade under the guise of joint custody.

Reacting to the fresh accusations via his X page, Davido firmly denied them, stating that his primary goal is to co-parent with Sophia and share parental responsibilities and expressed frustration for the misinterpretation.
He tweeted,
“All I asked for was ‘joint custody’ but cus it’s davido yall wanna act like yall can’t read! SMH I’m off this … yall be blessed and I pray this never happens to you.”
