Davido calls out Osun State CP over the political crisis

Afrobeats music star, David Adeleke better known as Davido has called out Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Umar Abba over the political crisis rocking the State.

Osun State, Davido’s home state and currently governed by his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, is caught in a political crisis between PDP and APC members.

The tension arose as sacked Local Government chairmen, elected under APC, attempted to force their way back into office despite court rulings removing them.

Over the weekend, Governor Adeleke held a press conference urging the President to caution his nephew and Minister, Gboyega Odetola, against instigating chaos by using security agents to reinstate the ousted chairmen. He emphasized that in a democratic system, aggrieved politicians should seek redress through the Appeal Court.

On Monday morning, chaos erupted across Osun State as the local government secretariats turned into battlegrounds. Gunshots rang out when sacked APC chairmen and their allies attempted to force their way into the offices but were met with resistance from PDP members.

Dissatisfied with how the police handled the crisis, Davido took to Twitter to call out the state’s police commissioner. He urged him to uphold the rule of law and warned him not to test him.

The singer didn’t hold back, calling the police boss a disgrace to his children and vowing to lose his cool over the matter.

“Mr commissioner respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crãzier than us !! Make we all kuku mad !! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post u every day everywhere, Mr man !!! Try me fucker.

Mr Umar Abba Osun State Commissioner u are a disgrace to ur children!! !!! Game on FUCKER !!!! All of us go mad together !! Werey!!!

Osun State Commissioner!! Let’s all he mad. Mr commissioner. We die here”.

Osun State

Davido’s involvement in Osun State’s political affairs comes as no surprise, given his active support since his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, entered politics in the state.

The music star has consistently championed Governor Adeleke, frequently posting about him online and making appearances at state events.

During the Osun governorship campaign, Davido played a key role in mobilizing support for his uncle and openly celebrated his victory.

Just last year, he publicly praised Adeleke for completing a major building project in the state, further showcasing his unwavering support.

Last year, Davido also weighed in on the Edo State gubernatorial election, questioning the police directive that ordered citizens to return home immediately after casting their votes.

Expressing his frustration, he labeled INEC as the most dangerous institution in Nigeria and urged Edo indigenes not to be intimidated.

Reflecting on his past political battles, the singer recalled how he had to fight and speak out for the success of the Osun election in 2022. Now, he’s already gearing up for Osun 2026.
