Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Instagram’s most powerful footballer who will compete in this year’s World Cup, glamsquad reports

The Manchester United forward has 481 million Instagram followers, which is more than any other player who will compete in Qatar. His individual posts are also the most valuable to brands, with each post worth a whopping £3.1 million.
Nielsen Sports performed the study. They looked at the players’ total number of followers, follower growth in the previous year, engagement rate, and average brand value per Instagram post.
Ronaldo’s follower count has increased by nearly 47% in the last year, and his posts have a 2.25% engagement rate.
The Portuguese superstar is ranked higher than his long-term rival Lionel Messi, who has 360 million followers and a post value of £2.3 million.

Neymar (178 million followers) and Kylian Mbappe (72.5 million) of Paris Saint-Germain rank third and fourth, with both of their individual posts worth slightly more than £1 million.
