Crime writer Anne Perry, who assisted in the murder of her friend’s mother as a teenager, has passed away. She was 84.
After beating Honorah Mary Parker to death at the age of 15, the author was sentenced to five years in jail.
Her representative announced that Perry passed away in a hospital in Los Angeles. After having a heart attack in December, she had been deteriorating for a while.
The writer served as the model for Peter Jackson’s 1994 Kate Winslet-starring movie, Heavenly Creatures.
Perry was known as Juliet Hulme when she fatally beat the mother of her closest friend; she afterwards adopted Anne Perry as a pseudonym name for her writing career.
