A court in Abuja has granted bail to controversial singer Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington.
This came when the Nigeria Police Force caved to pressure and arraigned him in court.
Darlington’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, said this on X: “Police eventually arraign Speed Darlington in court. “The bail application was moved and granted. We’re attempting to improve it.” The details of his bail have not yet been made public.
However, Okoye had recently petitioned DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, Abuja over his continued detention.
In his petition, Okoye asked the DIG to comply with a court order challenging his continued detention by the police

The controversial singer was arrested for accused Grammy award singer, Burna Boy of having amoral relationship with embattled singer of the United States, Sean Combs aka P.Diddy.
But, Justice M.S. Liman in the order issued on December 23, 2024, directed the police to either charge Okoye to court within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
