Kinabuti Foundation in collaboration with Pulse Ng is set to start a new reality show titled “Dare2Dream” in Nigeria. The reality show is scheduled to hold from October 28 to November 9, 2014.
Speaking at a press conference, The Founder of Kinabuti, Caterine Bortolussi disclosed the rationale behind the project is to encourage young people to believe in their dreams, despite the challenges and circumstances surrounding them.
“Dare2Dream is giving opportunities to aspiring young people who want to showcase their talents so many areas such cinematography, modelling and so on. The idea was in my plan since the inception of Kinabuti in 2010. We decided to do a project by selecting young talents from Universities in Nigeria”.
She also informed that, “auditions will take place at University of Port Harcourt, University of Uyo and University of Lagos. 18 students will be selected and screened before they can get to the final stage of the competition. Selected finalists will be taken to camp for training. We also created awareness through Campaigns featuring celebrities from various sectors of the industry encouraging people to believe in their dreams”.
Celebrity judge for the reality show, Multi Award winning Tv personality, Vvonne Vixen Ekwere revealed her plans for the event. “ The contestants will be trained so many areas, I want to inspire them to go for their dreams and be best in whatever they want to do in life by assessing their skills in divers areas such as presentation, confidence and so on”.
First City Monument Bank (FCMB) representative, Head of Corporate communications department, Uche Mojekwu, added that, “ FCMB is a bank for everybody, as part of giving back to the society and corporate social responsibility of the company. In partnership with Kinabuti Foundation we want to empower young people. At the end of the competition the winner will be the face of FCMB for a year”.
Responding to media questions about restriction of selection to three Universities in Nigeria, Caterine assured that “ Due to the last Universities strike , I could not take permission from authorities of other Universities at all levels. The next event will be different and will be taken across other universities in Nigeria”.
