Glamsquad reports that Manchester City became the most recent club to unveil a player’s statue, honoring former striker Sergio Aguero with an impressive monument at the Etihad Stadium.

The statue depicts Aguero’s ecstasy after scoring the game-winning goal against Queens Park Rangers to lead Manchester City to their first Premier League title.

“Truly, it is a very beautiful thing for me to see myself 10 years ago,” Aguero said.

“During those ten years, I was able to win numerous trophies and help the club become one of the most important in the world.”

Aguero may have enjoyed the ceremony, and his statue is certainly beautiful, but other players may not have been pleased with the outcome. Let us examine the best and worst football statues.

His bronze statue was unveiled in 2012 by his wife Lady Cathy to commemorate Manchester United’s 25th anniversary.

The statue, created by Algerian artist Adel Abdesseme, was unveiled in 2012 outside the Pompidou Centre in Paris. It depicts Zinedine Zidane’s famous headbutt on Marco Materazzi during the World Cup final in 2006.
