The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has unveiled the nominees for its 56th award show, spotlighting four Nigerian artists whose exceptional talent has captivated the world with their artistry.
Nigerian music stars, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Tems have been nominated for the 2025 NAACP Awards. Other Nigerian stars honoured at this year’s award include Actress Ayo Edebir.
Themed “Our Stories, Our Culture, Our Excellence,” this year’s 56th NAACP award show will be held is scheduled for February 22, at the Pasadena Civic Centre, California.
Wizkid earned two nominations for his track Piece of My Heart featuring Brent Faiyaz, including Outstanding Duo or Collaboration and Outstanding International Song.
Burna Boy and Usher received a nod for Best Collaboration with their song Coming Home, while Tems secured her spot in the Outstanding International Song category with her hit Love Me JeJe.
Actress Ayo Edebiri scored five nominations, including Outstanding Voiceover and Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
Meanwhile, South African singer Tyla is in the running for Outstanding New Artist.
