Burna Boy wins two Mobo Awards for Best International Act and Best Africa Musical Act

Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, a Nigerian musician, was one of the big winners at the 2022 MOBO Awards, glamsquad reports.

Burna Boy, who had been nominated for Best International Act at the MOBOs alongside Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Drake, and Summer Walker, had come out on top as the award’s winner.

 

Other nominees in the category included Jazmine Sullivan, Skilibeng, Jack Harlow, and Tems, a fast-rising Nigerian global act.

Burna also took home the award for Best African Act, defeating Asake, Rema, Fireboy, and Omah Lay.

 

This brings the star’s MOBO award haul to three, following his win as Best International Act in 2021.

The MOBO Awards are an annual British music award ceremony that recognizes achievements in “music of black origin,” which includes hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, and other genres.
