Buhari puts up Diezani Alison-Madueke’s bra, wedding gown, jewellery, others for sale

The Federal Government has initiated the process of valuing the properties of numerous politically exposed individuals, including Diezani Alison-Madueke, the beleaguered former Minister of Petroleum Resources.

According to Punch, the former Petroleum Minister’s property includes 18 flats and six penthouses at Building 3, Block B, Bella Vista, Plot 1, Zone N, Federal Government Layout in Banana Island Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Other prominent properties were that of the late Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, whose homes in Abuja’s high-end Wuse 2 and Maitama neighborhoods were taken. No. 14 Adzope Crescent, off Kumasi Crescent; 19 Kumasi Crescent, Wuse 2; and 6 Umme Street, Wuse 2 are among the addresses.

125 wedding gowns, 13 small gowns, 41 waist trainers, 73 hard flower, 11 pieces of suit, 11 pieces of invisible bra, 73 pieces of veils, 30 pieces of braziers, two pieces of standing fan, 17 pieces of magic skits, six packets of blankets, one table blanket, and 64 pairs of shoes were among the items recovered.

Last Monday, the Federal Government began the process of vetting 613 impartial valuers who will oversee the sale of assets allegedly obtained unlawfully and now permanently forfeited to it in about 25 places across the country.

A total of 1,620 properties, including vehicles, residences, phones, laptops, watercraft, and other valuables, are up for sale around the country.

Mohammed Etsu, Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Disposal of Forfeited Assets and Solicitor-General of the Federation, told journalists last week that 229 proposals had been received for the valuation of plants, machinery, motor vehicles, furniture, and equipment, while 75 companies had bid for the valuation of water vessels for disposal, and 25 companies had bid for the valuation of jewelry, ornaments, and clothing materials for disposal.
