Blazy also returned to the “dynamic” silhouette he established last season, exaggerating the sense of clothing-in-motion by adding fins to the back of pant legs. Similarly, the storm flaps on trench coats seemed to catch and hold a breeze. Jackets and shirts with curved funnel necklines had a streamlined profile.
These are minor details that, while easily overlooked by the uninitiated, are extremely important to fashion obsessives who keep an eye out for such changes. Blazy has the attention of those people.
This was a well-executed collection, a reminder of the importance of experience in a Milan Fashion Week that included some shaky debuts. Blazy has a lot of it, and it was evident in every aspect of this show, including the knit jacquard dresses and separates—”highly technical,” he said, “but the results are not technical, they’re emotional”—and the trio of fringed finale dresses in Pesce-inspired colors.
The distinctive Pesce chairs will be available for purchase at Design Miami. We inquired about the cost and were given a figure in the low five figures. That is not officially confirmed, but you now know.
