Blake Lively’s Met Gala Looks From 2008 to 2018

Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds, who are currently expecting their third child together, are on the committee for this year’s 2019 Met Gala, taking place tomorrow, Monday May 6, so it’s the perfect time to look back over Blake’s Met Gala looks.

2008: ‘Superheroes’

For her first Met Gala, Blake played it fairly safe wearing a Ralph Lauren gown  which basically ignored the theme.

2009: ‘The Model as Muse’

Dressed in Versace, it was safe to say that Blake was channelling her inner Gisele Bündchen.

2010, ‘American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity’

Teal blue worked well for her in 2009, so Blake repeated the colour in 2010 wearing Marchesa.

2011: ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’

Showcasing a new strawberry blonde ‘do,  Blake rocked a silver Chanel Fall 2009 Haute Couture Grecian-inspired dress.

2013: ‘PUNK: Couture to Chaos’

Gucci Première, oh how I miss thee.  Let me count the ways.  This strapless gown touched on the theme, while still bringing that Blake sex appeal to the red carpet.

2014: ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’

Blake was at her most glamorous best, doing the old-school Hollywood thing perfectly in Gucci Première.

2016: ‘Manus x Machina: Fashion In The Age Of Technology’

While everyone else rocked up to the Met Gala in 2016 wearing robot-like metallic dresses, Blake just did her thing in a floral number by Burberry. She was pregnant at the time, so I guess the

2017: Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between’

I remember that  you all disliked Blake in this Atelier Versace gown.  Between those blue feathers creating the most dramatic in the train and the gold fringe work, what’s not to love?

2018: Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination

I’m sure you noticed that Blake took things up several notches last year in this Atelier Versace design, which is still my most liked picture on Instagram.

I’m confident being the co-chair, that Blake will knock us off our feet for this year’s theme which is ‘Camp: Notes On Fashion.’

I’m not even going to guess who she wears, I’m just gonna make sure I’m sitting down when she makes her entrance.
