Dapo Abiodun, born Adedapo Oluseun Abiodun on May 29, 1960, is a Nigerian businessman, politician, and the Governor of Ogun State. He won the 2019 general elections on the All Progressive Congress platform (APC). He was the Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission’s Board of Directors

Abiodun was born on May 29, 1960, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, to the royal dynasty of Iperu.
He was born into the family of Dr. Emmanuel Abiodun and Mrs. Victoria Abiodun in Iperu Remo, Ogun East senatorial district.

He is the CEO and Managing Director of Heyden Petroleum Ltd, a Nigerian oil and gas company (HPL).
According to reports, he is also the founder of First Power Limited.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared him Governor-Elect of Ogun State on March 10, 2019.
After defecting from the All Progressive Congress (APC) following the 2015 general elections, Abiodun became a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.
He ran for the All Progressive Congress (APC) senate seat in Ogun East in the 2015 Nigerian general elections, but lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
He was elected to the Nigerian Senate in 1998 on the ticket of the now-defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP).
He has served on several presidential committees and organizations.
He ran for governor of Ogun State in 2019 and was elected on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He was sworn in as Governor of Ogun State on May 29, 2019.
He is a born-again Christian who attends worship services at the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry. He has stated that God guided him to the position of governor of Ogun State despite strong opposition.
